HOW WE BEGIN:
The first session is an initial consultation to explore the obstacles that inspire you to reach out for support, your vision of what is possible, and an orientation to the inner and outer resources you might access to move from the dance you’re in, to the dance you want to be in. We'll both assess if it's a good match to continue our work together, and if it is, we'll schedule follow up sessions and dive in. If you'd be better served by another therapist, I'll be happy to offer you referrals to colleagues who can support you with your intentions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic and the Stay Home, Stay Safe, Save Lives executive order in Michigan, I am only offering telehealth via Zoom and Doxy.Me.
When I am able to reopen for in person sessions, my office is located at 2020 Hogback Road Suite 11 in the Atria Park Business Center located by U.S. 23 and Washtenaw Ave in Ann Arbor. There is ample free parking at Atria Park. There are two waiting areas: one is in the atrium on the first floor and I can meet you there just before our session begins. The second is in our suite, #11. We ask that clients remove their shoes during their visit.
We may explore postures or breathing exercises, so dress in comfortable clothes for standing, sitting and lying down. All props are provided.
Payment is due at the beginning of each session. For telehealth payments, I accept Venmo and PayPal. My current fee for an initial consultation for holistic psychotherapy and couples therapy is $150 for an hour, and thereafter, ongoing sessions, which are 50 minutes long, are $135. I can provide you an invoice to submit for reimbursement to your HSA or Flex Spending Account. If you are using this type of account for payment, the fee is still due at the beginning of each session.
I am currently accepting BCBS PPO insurance, both Federal plans and Michigan plans. If you are using your insurance benefits to cover the cost of therapy, please refer to the form provided below for policies and consent.. You can also contact your insurance company to determine if they will reimburse you for out-of-network care. Co-pay and deductible payments are due at the beginning of each session.
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment for any reason, please contact me by phone. My cancellation policy is no fee for more than 48 hours of notice and $75 for less than 48 hours of notice (medical emergencies are the exception). If we are able to reschedule within the same business week, the fee is waived. When the weather is too treacherous to drive, I offer telehealth sessions.
Level of Care:
Note: my practice can not meet the high acuity needs of individuals or couples where one or both people are actively suicidal, homicidal, have an untreated substance addiction, are engaged in domestic violence, have needed psychiatric hospitalization in the past year or are seeking a legal evaluation for custody.
