How We Begin

The first session is an initial consultation to explore the obstacles that inspire you to reach out for support, your vision of what is possible, and an orientation to the inner and outer resources you might access to move from the dance you’re in, to the dance you want to be in.   Before our session, I will email you an invitation to set up your client portal account with TheraNest, the practice management site I use.   You will submit a few intake forms through your client portal before our first session begins, and will receive an email appointment reminder with instructions of how to connect with me via telehealth.

During our initial consultation, we'll both assess if it's a good match to continue our work together, and if it is, we'll schedule follow up sessions and dive in. If you'd be better served by another therapist, I'll be happy to offer you referrals to colleagues who can support you with your intentions.

My office is located at 2020 Hogback Road Suite 11 in the Atria Park Business Center located by U.S. 23 and Washtenaw Ave in Ann Arbor. There is ample free parking at Atria Park.  Our waiting room is on the first floor.  I offer telehealth sessions and in person sessions (with covid-19 precautions per current public health code).

Investing in Your Wellness:

Receiving the support of a devoted, experienced and well trained therapist requires an investment on your part.  The biggest investment is your openness and willingness to grow beyond your current level of development as individuals or as a couple.

It also requires an energy exchange of a set fee for the time we share together.

Initial Consultation:  $170 | 1 hour

Psychotherapy:  $144 | 50 minutes
Couples Therapy:  $150 | 50 minutes

Longer and shorter sessions are available and are prorated by the minute.

Payment is due at the beginning of each session.  For telehealth payments, I accept Venmo and PayPal.  For in person visits, I accept cash, check, Venmo or PayPal.    I'm not currently accepting credit card payments.

I can provide you an invoice to submit for reimbursement to an out-of-network PPO plan, your HSA or Flex Spending Account.  If you are using this type of account for payment, the full session fee is due at the beginning of each session.

I am currently accepting BCBS PPO insurance, both Federal plans and Michigan plans.  If you are using your insurance benefits to cover the cost of therapy, you will complete a waiver so that I can bill your insurance company.  If you have a PPO plan that is not BCBS, you can contact your insurance company to determine if they will reimburse you for out-of-network care.  Co-pay and deductible payments are due at the beginning of each session.

Note - if you have a Blue Cross BCN plan, that is not a PPO plan, and I'm not able to bill BCN.  As an HMO, they do not reimburse for out-of-network care.

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment for any reason, please contact me by phone.  My cancellation policy is no fee for more than 48 hours of notice and $75 for less than 48 hours of notice (medical emergencies are the exception). If it is possible to reschedule within the same business week, the fee is waived.

Level of Care:

Note:  my practice can not meet the high acuity needs of individuals or couples where one or both people are actively suicidal, homicidal, have an untreated substance addiction, are engaged in domestic violence, have needed psychiatric hospitalization in the past year or are seeking a legal evaluation for custody.
