How We Begin

BEGINNING:

The first session is an initial consultation to explore the obstacles that inspire you to reach out for support, your vision of what is possible, and an orientation to the inner and outer resources you might access to move from the dance you’re in, to the dance you want to be in.   Before our session, I will email you an invitation to set up your client portal account with TheraNest, the practice management site I use.   You will submit a few intake forms through your client portal before our first session begins, and will receive an email appointment and invoice through this site

During our initial consultation, we will both assess if it is a good match to continue our work together, and if it is, we will schedule follow up sessions and dive in. If you would be better served by another therapist or coach, I will be happy to offer you referrals to colleagues who can support you with your intentions.

Level of Care:

Note:  my practice can not meet the high acuity needs of individuals that are actively suicidal, homicidal, have an untreated substance addiction, are engaged in domestic violence, have needed psychiatric hospitalization in the past year or are seeking a legal evaluation for custody.  I can offer referrals.

OFFICE HOURS:

Mondays:  1:30 pm - 6:30 pm

*Tuesdays:  10:00 am - 2:15 pm*

Wednesdays:  12:15 pm - 5:15 pm

Thursdays:  8:00 am - 12:30 pm

*On Tuesdays, I offer telehealth appointments only.  On Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays, I offer in person appointments and telehealth by request.

Rescheduling:

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment for any reason, please contact me by phone.  My cancellation policy is no fee for more than 48 hours and the full session fee for less than 48 hours of notice.  Medical emergencies are the exception. If it is possible to reschedule within the same business week, the fee is waived.

Insurance:

I am an in-network mental health provider for BCBS PPO plans.  If you plan to use your in-network benefits, your deductible or co-pay is due the same day of our session.  Contact BCBS customer service to determine your mental health deductible and co-pay costs.

I can provide a superbill to submit to any other Michigan based PPO plan for out-of-network mental health reimbursement.  Call your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits, including deductible, co-insurance and rate of reimbursement (procedure codes 90837 for 60 minute and 90834 for 45 minute sessions).  If you plan to use your out-of-network benefits, the full session fee is due at the time of service, you will file a claim through your insurance portal and be reimbursed directly by your insurance provider, generally within 30 days.
No refunds will be offered in the case of unreimbursed claims. Note:  No HMO plans reimburse for out-of-network psychotherapy.

Coaching is not a billable service for any insurance plan.

Investing in Your Wellness:

Receiving the support of a devoted, experienced and well trained therapist or coach requires an investment on your part.  The biggest investment is your openness and willingness to grow beyond your current level of development.

It also requires an energy exchange of a set fee for the time we share together.
